In the July 27th - August 2nd issue of the Dallas Business Journal reporter Lauren D’ Avolio talks to Deep Ellum Association president Gianna Madrini about the opening of a the new Deep Ellum Museum and Visitor Center located at 2822 Elm St. directly across from Cafe Brazil. The DEA board has been instrumental in creating a plan to market and promote the neighborhood and in forming partnerships that will provide on going support to neighborhood activities. The museum and visitor center is an integral part of the plan and will help us better promote the area. We’ll keep you posted on the grand opening.
We have a scan of the image (above) in which Ms. Madrini is shown in front of the new Museum and Visitor Center, next to a mural of Blind Lemon Jefferson by Frank Campagna.
The article focuses on the Museum and Visitor Center and the launch of the Deep Ellum Historic Walking Tour in conjunction with the Dallas Historical Society. Other neighborhood business owners interviewed for the piece include Joel Morales (co-owner of Adair’s Saloon Bar & Grill) and Frank Campagna (co-owner of Kettle Art, and DEA board member). Everyone is pretty excited about the new traffic that both the Walking Tour and Museum & Visitor Center will bring into the neighborhood.
I would recommend taking a look a the piece (subscription only) if you get the chance.
