DONATE A WALL — Information and Guidelines
The Deep Ellum Association will facilitate a Donate a Wall program and coordinate the artists to paint the selected murals on private property that will remain up for a period up of one year.
We will supply the paint and accessories needed to complete the mural as well as the necessary permits and public consultation.
A mural can act as a deterrent to future graffiti, enhance the aesthetics of your building and community as well as provide a medium for artists to display their work. Research supports the
theory that a mural is less likely to be “tagged” than a bare wall. If your property has been the target of graffiti you may qualify to have a mural painted on your building.
The qualifying property owners will be notified of the winning submissions and work with the committee in planning the locations for each proposed mural. The artist will be responsible for providing a color sketch to scale no larger than 24”x 36″ and submitting it to the Deep Ellum Association. Once a sketch has been submitted it will be reviewed to insure the guidelines have been followed, and request final approval by participating property owners. Once the art is approved, the artist will paint the mural on the scheduled date for the painting event.
