My father always said, “When you don’t understand something, follow the dollar.” And he was so right. I couldn’t understand why the Monkey Bar was going through such problems. There was a whole room full of people in support and four neighbors could shut it down. Well, I was reading the morning news article regarding this matter and came to this part
Dan Boucher, who lives in one of the townhomes behind the bar, said the bar blasts music until 2 a.m. into his house. Drunks stumble out of the place at late hours, and the bar doesn’t listen to any complaints from neighbors, he said.
“There was puke on the front doorstep of this business for two weeks until it was washed away by the rain,” he said.
So, being the ghetto asshole I am, I went to Dallas Cad to find out where this guy lived. Actually, I was just wondering where he was in relation to the Monkey. And I found out that and a whole bunch more. Not only does the guy live on the farthest end from the bar this was what came up.
A slew of properties on the tax role totalling around $1.8 million. Also other Boucher’s appear to own big chunks of Dallas, maybe not his family, but probably. So this comes down to what Shutze refers to as “Juice”. He’s got city people on his side despite the fact he purchased a condo right behind a bar.
Now things are making a bit more sense.
