As most of you know it’s time for AFI Dallas again. The spiritual lovechild of the Deep Ellum Film Festival is back in full force. Unlike so many other little things that make it large, AFI Dallas hasn’t forgotten it’s roots. This year the festival has dubbed it’s music series “Deep Ellum Sounds,” which we got a taste of Saturday night. I’ve been going to screening for the last week and have run into quite a few people from the neighborhood including “Crazy Picture Guy” Scotty Mankoff (more on that later).
