Calling All Artists!

The Second Installment of Re*Cov*Er Mural Competition is open to all Texas artists.

Cost: There is a $20.00 entry fee (waived for students with school ID). The costs for mural materials will be sponsored by the Deep Ellum Association, The Deep Ellum Foundation, property owners and other sponsorships.

Submissions should not exceed 16” x 18”. Up to three layouts may be submitted for a single entry fee. Names of designers and contact information should be in a sealed envelope attached to the back of the board.

All entries will be on public display at Studio Fling from May 8^th through the 15^th.

This installment of the mural competition has no specific theme, so artists are encouraged to be creative with their applications.

Deadline: Drop-offs deadline is between 9am and 5pm, Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 2540 Elm St.

• A judging of submissions will occur @ Studio Fling in Deep Ellum from 6-8pm on Thursday, May 8^th.
• If selected, the artists must sign a liability release form.
• On May 16th artists chosen to create murals will be announced at Club Dada during a benefit for the Deep Ellum Association (501c6).
• 5 artists will be chosen to create murals.
• Chosen artists may begin work starting at 10am on Saturday, May 17th, and may work at their own leisure. All work must be complete by 5pm Saturday, 24^th.
• All murals must be in an 12′x16′ format.
• The Deep Ellum Association and sponsors will provide a per-diem to cover material cost.
• The Deep Ellum community along with a panel of judges will select the finalist. The judges will be given latitude in the awarding of honor
• A special ceremony to celebrate and introduce the winning artists will be held on May 24, 2008 at The Prophet Bar in Deep Ellum.
